Ranking Americas' Best
   Professional Golf Players
Which Tournaments have provided the most excitement?

Here are the final Field strength rankings for all events for 2004 to 2006. These are based on the final Pro Golf Rankings standings and our final money list. They have been calculated using our new simplified method to calculate rankings.  Here are links to complete ratings.
The Men's and Women's National use our combined master rankings. We will add 2007 using the  FedEx Cup events for the Men's. A tour must have at least 3 events completed before we start.

Those Tournament that have the largest number of the best players have the highest field strength rating!

The criteria:
This rating is a look at the players who have indicated that they plan to enter. The criteria used for this rating is how have they done  in our ranking and where they stand on the money list.

We used our ranking as this is an indication as to how many of the good quality players will be there that the TV audience is used to seeing to keep their attention.

We used the money list as we wanted to temper that with a player rating that the golfing world is used to looking at.

The new Field strength we are now showing is an indication of what type player is playing different events. A high rating indicates the best of the best are playing. A low rating indicates that players who may not qualify normally are having an opportunity to play.

If the broadcasters focus too much on one or two players, drawing in those viewers that just want see them and lose the viewers and or gallery that like to see a lot of different good shots and near misses is yet to be determined.
These numbers are really a strength of field measurement which translates into how good the event ends up being.
